In Einstein Year (2005), following complaints that something wasn?t quite right with the Theory of Special Relativity, the
Independent Scientific Fraud and Corruption Commission has undertaken a Review of the Theory with the intention of answering
three questions: ?what is it, what does it mean, and is it correct?? The ISFCC apologizes for the four year gestation of the
Review.

In the West, it is believed that the Theory of Special Relativity is a stupendous scientific breakthrough by the genius
Albert Einstein concerning the nature of space and time. The theory is all the more impressive, it is said, for defying common
sense and for only being understood by a tiny mathematical elite. However, the Commission has been informed that Special
Relativity is based on the Relativity and Light Principles.

According to the Relativity Principle, the laws of dynamics, optics, electrodynamics etc are the same for any unaccelerated
observer, irrespective of the speed and direction of that observer with respect to the rest of the universe; and according
to the Light Principle the in vacuo speed of any light ray is a constant 300,000 km/sec (1.0c), when measured in any observer?s
non-rotating un-accelerated frame of reference. The Relativity Principle has two corollaries: in Corollary (A) each observer
acknowledges that his chronometer is un-slowed, and in Corollary (B) each observer acknowledges that his measuring stick is unshrunk.
And the Light Principle has Corollary (C) in which each un-accelerated observer acknowledges that an outbound light
ray has the same speed as an inbound light ray.

Proceeding from the above, expert witnesses testified that Special Relativity derives a number of amazing
consequences: according to Consequence [I] an observer who is stationary in an un-accelerated frame perceives that clocks in
motion relative to that frame have a slower clock-rate (relativistic time dilation), and in Consequence [II] the observer perceives
that solid objects are foreshortened in the direction of the motion of those objects relative to that observer?s frame of reference
(Fitzgerald length contraction) . Also, in Consequence [III] an observer perceives that a stern clock on a relatively moving
spaceship is in advance of the bow clock of that ship, provided the astronauts have properly synchronized those clocks (the
relativity of simultaneity).

After further inquiry the Commission found that relativists believe that relativistic clock-slowing is ?real?, but that
Fitzgerald length contraction is ?observational only?. It has been testified that Special Relativity has been confirmed time and
time again by experiment, but for all that the Commission has been made aware that ordinary folk continue to be astonished by
the ?reciprocity of observations?. An example of this phenomenon is where Unni observes relatively-moving Prima to have a
slow running clock, and Prima observes relatively-moving Unni to have slow running clock, implying that both clocks are running
slower than each other! But lack of understanding of this and other relativity paradoxes, experts say, is the result of humans
being the product of biological evolution in an environment where travel was at speeds much less than that of light, and where
relativistic effects were very small.

Special Relativity is a theory of kinematic invariance, and it is certainly true that the moving observer - if he assumes that his clocks are unslowed and his measuring stick is unshrunk, and that light is isotropic with respect to himself - will envisage the at-rest observer to have (i) a bow clock and stern clock both running slow, (ii) the clock reading of the stern clock in advance of the clock reading of the bow clock (the ?relativity of simultaneity?), (iii) a measuring stick shrunken in the fore and aft direction, and (iv) anisotropic light. Although a one-only moving observer can without contradiction make the assumptions that he does regarding his clocks, sticks and light, the paper shows that he cannot make these assumptions for the general case where he is but one of a collection of moving ob-servers going this way and that. The thought experiment is explicated by a series of diagrams in which four orthogonal streams of robotic clocks enclose the stationary observer in a square, and where the direction of those streams is anticlockwise as seen from above the page. The gedanken begins with one stream of 16 equidistant clocks, all synchronized according to Einstein. Then each moving clock in that stream is allowed to transfer its clock reading by direct contact (Halsbury transfer) to a clock in a second stream of clocks coming in from the right. When this process is repeated for each corner the result is an unbroken circulating loop of equidistant Ein-stein-synchronous clocks which has the appearance of a snake chasing its tail. The stationary observer then makes the startling dis-covery that the clock reading of the?head? clock of the circulating snake is retarded instead of being in advance of the clock reading of the immediately proceeding ?tail? clock. This demonstration of the untenability of the Einstein relativity of simultaneity has a num-ber of implications, including that moving observers can no longer maintain (a) that their clocks are unslowed, (b) that their measuring sticks are unshrunk, and (c) that light is isotropic with respect to their individual selves. With the collapse of kinematic invariance it is found that Special Relativity reverts to the theory from which it was derived: the theory wherein light propagates in a static medium and where Fitzgerald contraction of solid matter is physically real and theoretically detectable, e.g. with a Tolman balanced right angle lever.

The planet of the naked apes is afflicted with collective madness which puts a long delay on the drawing of obvious inferences from ubiquitous observational evidence concerning physics and cosmology. This has been the case for the Round (not flat) Earth revolution_, the Spinning/Orbiting (not still) Earth revolution_ and now the Big Ether Blob (not empty space) universe revolution. As an example of the deranged delaying tactics employed against the BEB revolution, the (measured) steady reduction of the frequency of a gamma ray source on the rim of a spinning disk was wilfully misinterpreted by Turner & Hill (1964) as a negative ether drift experiment. As a form of shock therapy, the Ether Drift Club has carried out an investigation using a mechanical model of the motion-induced clock-rate slowing observed in the Solar System, in which spinning orbiting atomic clocks are simulated by ultrasound emitters whose frequencies are artificially reduced as a very specific function of their Mach numbers. This model replicates all essential elements of observed Earth/Sun clock-rate slowing, and therefore proves beyond reasonable doubt that there is a matter/light medium which encompasses the universe. However the prognosis for acceptance of the OEether theory of everything_ in the foreseeable future is grim. Unlike the previous Round Earth and Spinning/Orbiting Earth revolutions, the BEB revolution will come into immediate direct confrontation with the prevailing world view, and every vested interest one can think of, socially, politically, economically, technologically, scientifically, cosmologically and religiously. The major import of the BEB revolution is that it will have to recognized that the Big Ether Blob is fine-tuned to conceal ether drift, and on the balance of probabilities provides evidence for intelligent design which is a fortori the case because the BEB generates the various species of sentient creatures without outside intervention.

Circa year 3000: a) Master clock in orbit on other side of Sun; b) 'Arcadia ' sync. signals are isotropic wrt the Sun-Centred Frame; c) Clock rates are slowed by speed wrt SCF, and increased by remoteness from the Sun; d) To maintain synchronization, the Paris clock is biased to run faster to compensate for Earth gravity, and biased cyclically to run slower at noon and faster at midnight to compensate for Earth spin. Circa year 4000: a) Master clock at cosmic rest (370 km/s in the direction of Aquarius); b) 'Elysium' sync. signals are isotropic wrt the Cosmic Background Radiation Frame; c) Clock rates are slowed by speed wrt the CBRF, and increased by remoteness from Milky Way center; d) To maintain synchronization, the Paris clock is biased to run faster to compensate for Sun gravity, and biased cyclically to run slower in June and faster in December to compensate for Earth's orbital speed.

Why the Effect of Circular Motion and Gravitational Potential on Clock Rate Contradicts the Relativity Principle (Time Odyssey II)

One million years ago, noon last Sunday, five droids were given the chance of receiving immortality and supreme power over the universe. The droids, which were switched on simultaneously, were commanded to race each other to the age of one million years. One droid chose to position himself at the North Pole. Another droid chose to position himself beyond the orbit of the moon. A third droid chose to position himself outside the orbit of Pluto. The fourth droid chose to position himself outside the rim of the Milky Way galaxy. The fifth droid chose to position himself outside the local group, and at rest with respect to the frame defined by the Cosmic Background Radiation. The paper explains why the fifth droid won the contest, and why his victory falsifies all naked ape science since Galileo.

If you want to explore space, think in cosmic terms . . . Think big. This concept demonstrates the powers of imagination and how mankind may eventually learn to turn an entire planet into a launch platform. This particular brainstorm has been an inchoate daydream in the back of Hodges' mind for quite a few years.

The paper explores the implications of the Margaret Wertheim dictum that physics is culturally determined and fallible. The followers of Pythagoras and Democritus have had a beneficial influence on the development of Western thought, culminating in Isaac Newton's law of gravitation/law of motion and John Dalton's atomic theory of matter. However the discovery of a solid elastic ether by Michael Faraday threw Newtonian mathematism and Daltonian atomism into crisis. The reaction of the Western scientific elite has been to bury the ether under a near impenetrable blanket of mathematical obfuscation. The first instance of this process occurred when Maxwell's ether based equations were de-etherized and mathematized by Heaviside and Hertz. A second and more serious instance was a reaction to Michelson's linear ether drift experiment and to Poincare's ether-Fitzgerald-contraction based impotence principle of relativity. This principle was de-etherized and mathematized by Einstein and Minkowski. However at the end of the 2nd millennium there is one small group who is especially able to transcend its cultural conditioning, i.e. the Natural Philosophy Alliance. From the papers of NPA members Ronald Hatch and F. Selleri it should be obvious that the physical universe is but a big blob of ether with vibrations in it.
