Mathematician(Toroidal Ring)Dennis Patrick Allen, Jr. was born in Muskegon, Michigan, and received his AB (1964) and PhD (1968) from UC Berkeley. He served as a mathematics professor at Michigan Tech, U (1969-1972), but spent most of his career in industry as a computer scientist. He recently worked with David L. Bergman on a spinning, twisting helicon particle.
