It is shown that the Lorentz assumption of a length contraction with a ratio (1-B²)^1/2 in the movement direction of moving bodies is not the only one which can explain the Michelson-Morley experiment within its usual interpretation.

Inconsistencies between a corpuscular nature of light and some observations are well known. However, they disappear when it is assumed that a photon is not emitted inside the light source bur in a medium at rest.
