Mitch was employed by a mid-sized inner city hospital in Toledo, Ohio. He held various positions throughout his career; journeyman electrician, electrical/mechanical supervisor, and manager of plant operations and maintenance. Yet after 22 years his work place merged with a large healthcare system, and his job was eliminated due to restructuring and down-sizing of management. Shortly after that time a book on relativity sparked his interest in theoretical physics. Indeed, Mitch is only an amateur in physics and philosophy, but his thesis delves only into elementary physics and basic mathematical principles. In his opinion the simplicity and consistency of his work are its greatest attributes. His favorite quote is one by Galileo Galilei (1564 - 1642): "In questions of science, the authority of a thousand is not worth the humble reasoning of a single individual."
