Description

Ambiguities in Einstein's Relativity
Abstract: Einstein's Relativity is ambiguous. Einstein never wrote clearly as to what his theory (theories) really meant, and added to that he kept changing his mind. It will be impossible to deal with all of the ambiguities in Einstein's works, so I will be concentrating on the ambiguity of precisely what "light speed constancy" is supposed to mean. Einstein supposedly abandoned Newtonian physics; but did he really do that? The "constancy of lightspeed" can be interpreted in such a way that it is consistent with Newtonian physics, and we get the result that in the Lorentz equations v =0 (a la Harry Ricker); is this what was really meant? Has it merely been a series of mistakes by Einstein and his followers that has prevented v =0 as being recognised as the "real" solution?
