Dates: 2010-02-23 - 2010-02-26 9.9 (1 decade 4 years ago)

Where: Laurel, MD, United States Venue: Kossiakoff Center - Johns Hopkins University/Applied Physics Laboratory

Description

Space, Propulsion and Energy Sciences International Forum is a international technical forum organized by the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Space, Propulsion & Energy Sciences (IASSPES)* as part of their mission to:

  • Integrate the sciences toward rapid advancements in basic research that will lead to new developments in the SPACE, PROPULSION, and ENERGY sciences toward new earth and space uses with a eye on their applications for the exploration of space beyond present day visions,
  • Educate the public on the scientific and technical reasons why basic research in certain space, propulsion and energy related areas should be funded, and
  • Support the STEM program toward educating teacher and student toward this understanding.

The Space, Propulsion & Energy Sciences International Forum (SPESIF) replaced the Space Technology Applications International Forum (STAIF) in 2009 after 25 years of service to the nuclear and space communities. SPESIF wishes to establish itself as the US forum on
advanced space - science and technology applications, specifically directed toward Lunar/Mars/Beyond space exploration, in co-operation
with AIAA, AAS and other space organizations. The first SPESIF was held this past February in Huntsville, Alabama with 79 presented and published papers and 30+ other presentations covering a wide range of space related subjects. Our attendees included participation from industry, government and academia and included representation from 10+ foreign counties.

SPESIF-2010 will be held at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD near Washington, DC, February 23-26, 2010. The theme for SPESIF-2010 is "New Directions in Space Science and Technology." The SPESIF-2010 organizing committee invites you to participate. Papers approved for SPESIF-2010 are reviewed by the technical staff, Chairs and CoChairs and other Committee Members as needed for a proper peer review and will be published by the American Institute of Physics (AIP) as an AIP Conference Proceedings.
