  • Communal Blind Spots / Intuitive Iteration (2011) [Updated 1 decade ago]
by Richard Moody   read the paper:

Although paranormal activity is speculative, supranormal behavior is demonstrable. I define supranormal activities as any activity that is beyond any known level of intellectual proficiency. Using a process called Intuitive Iteration (II) it has been for me to document intellectual levels of proficiency that may require a rethinking of some accepted concepts. First of all we must reject Einstein's classic observation, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." This is a failure on the part of Einstein to understand the best way to create paradigm shifts.

In chess in the span of two tournaments I lost 20 games in a row against weak opponents, yet using Intuitive Iteration, I have been able to write three critically acclaimed chess books on chess theory. Also, when my game is "on", I can routinely get winning positions against the strongest computers in the world, winning four games and drawing dozens of games. Against human opponents I have gotten my games published in top professional journals, and, in the only game against a Grandmaster, one of the strongest players in the country, I got a winning attack only to accept a draw in a superior position.

To achieve this level of activity I use intuitive iteration, a process I described in the Mensa Bulletin March 1995. The article is called, "Communal Blind Spot Theory.. Think of this as the ultimate in reliance on intuition as a research tool fully equal to facts and logic. Intuition is a separate and distinct way we few reality from facts and logic. For true wisdom to occur we must have the integration of intuition, facts, logic and experience. It is my belief that if my methodology of intuitive iteration could be understood and utilitized by as few as one scientist out of a hundred, we would see a return to American Exceptionalism as these techniques, if implemented correctly, would result in the doubling of the number of paradigm shifts within 10 years over and above that which would occur in the absence of these methods.

  • The Eclipse Data From 1919: The Greatest Hoax in 20th Century Science (2009) [Updated 1 decade ago]
by Richard Moody   read the paper:

Prior to 1919, general relativity was an obscure theory by a rising star in physics, Albert Einstein. Based on the perceived need to test this complex and intriguing concept, it was held as gospel that the sunlight passing by the sun should be bent by the gravitational attraction of the sun, something known to Sir Isaac Newton and modified by Einstein. According to prevailing wisdom, this should be observable during a total solar eclipse when the shielding of the sun's light permitted the observation of light from distant stars being "bent" around the sun.

In an effort to play the role of peacemaker and kingmaker, Arthur Eddington traveled to Principe in Africa with the express purpose of proving Einstein right. Prior to that, he was an advocate for Einstein, due, in part, to the fact that both men shared the same political beliefs, Pacifism. In his zeal to be both peacemaker and kingmaker (Eddington wanted to be known as the man who discovered Einstein), Eddington engaged in corruption and derogation of the scientific data, the scientific method, and much of the scientific community. To this day, this completely manufactured data set is quoted by two prominent scientists and the organs of publication. It surpasses the Piltdown Fraud as the greatest hoax of 20th and 21st Century science.

  • Beyond Plate Tectonics: 'Plate' Dynamics (2009) [Updated 1 decade ago]

Plate tectonics has served a useful purpose for 40 years; now it is time to take a step away from a kinematic emphasis and focus on process. It is proposed here that the aging seafloor acquires gravitational potential energy as it leaves the ridge and goes from being positively buoyant for the first 30 million years or so to becoming negatively buoyant after that.

Where this model differs from conventional wisdom, it is predicted here that Uniformitarianism (Plate Tectonics) occupies 90-99% of the earth?s history and that Catastrophism happens only 1-10% of the time. This model encompasses data sets from both schools of geology.

Glaciers surge; their properties are similar to plates. Glaciers consist of an elastic discontinuous material, snow and fern, at the surface. Sediments and pillow basalts occur beneath the surface of seafloor. Down section, we get a continuous elastic medium, un cracked ice in glaciers and the sheeted dyke sequence in the seafloor. Both grade downwards in into first a ductile and then a plastic region at the base.

Surging will occur whenever acceleration of the plates lubricates the base and sides of the plates and the resistance to energy tied up in the conduit drops dramatically as hot rock deep beneath the ridge drops the viscosity in response to this increase in strain rates. Major new ideas here are that heat flow may be partially lateral, not vertical, and that a singularity in structural geology is suggested.
