  • Alternate Theories of Gravity and Geology in Earthquake Prediction (2007) [Updated 3 years ago]

  • An Interactive Approach to Unification (2007) [Updated 3 years ago]

I have started a website, http://www.kokus.net/, dedicated to pursuing a theory of unification based on the premises that the earth is expanding, cosmological redshift is quanitized, and the cosmos is a rotating hierarchy with a preferred reference frame. It uses particles which are vortices in an aether and does not require quarks. I will describe how I hope the theory will evolve and how others can get involved.

  • Earthquakes on Parkfield Segment of the San Andreas Fault and Lunar Phase (2005) [Updated 3 years ago]

For decades an enigma has persisted about the lunar phase during major quakes on the Parkfield segment of the San Andreas Fault. The lunar phases at the time of the quakes cluster with high statistical significance 45 degrees prior to full and new moon. There are no local tidal maximums or minimums at these times nor is the earth as a whole contorted into an extreme shape. The earth?s moment of inertia is also not at an extreme. This phenomenon has no explanation within the accepted theory of plate tectonics. It has been the motivation for many wild conjectures including totally new theories of gravity. As it turns out, the explanation may be much more mundane (pun intended). When the moon is at these positions, the tidal bulges are the furthest from the moon and the torque that the moon exerts perpendicular to the earth?s axis is maximized. This coincidence can now be viewed as consistent with all of the main alternatives to plate tectonics: surge tectonics, pulsating earth, angular momentum theories, and especially earth expansion.

  • Unification Based on Astronomical Quantization and Earth Expansion (2005) [Updated 3 years ago]

Certain controversial phenomena and non-standard theories may unify into a more coherent unified theory of natural phenomena than the current accepted paradigms. If the quantization of astronomical red shift, masses and angular momentum as well as a secular increase in earth radius which is too great to be explained by standard physics are accepted as real; then the quest for unification is greatly simplified. All of the standard approaches are eliminated. The author will discuss his and others attempts to seek common ground between the two heresies. The discussion will include Barut?s leptonic theory of matter and spherical rotation. The author is keenly interested is others suggestions for resolving these paradoxes, especially the creation of matter without the parallel creation of antimatter that both phenomena seem to require. Please consider the above presentation for evaluation by the NPA community. Since I presented the precursor at Storrs in 2000, I have received more positive feedback on it than anything else that I?ve done.

  • Spherical Rotation, Particles and Cosmology (1996) [Updated 7 years ago]
by Martin Kokus   read the paper:

Astrophysics and Space Science, V244, pp. 353-356 (1996). There have been many models of both fundamental particles and the cosmos which have involved both rotation, spin and vorticity. Most of these involve "something" spinning about a fixed axis. This paper qualitatively describes a more general rotation which shows promise in unifying the fundamental forces and explaining various cosmological phenomena.

  • Cosmological Coincidences (1994) [Updated 7 years ago]
by Martin Kokus   read the paper:

Since the measurement of the Hubble constant made it possible to calculate the age or diameter of the observable universe, theorists have noticed that when the fundamental constants of physics are combined so that their units cancel, the dimensionless numbers created cluster around two values, 1040 and 137. Some of these numbers predicted relationships that were later verified but still have no explanation within standard theories. Recently, a simple relationship between 137 and 1040 has been found. Another coincidence has been found involving the magnetism of rotating bodies. Furthermore, a new coincidence has been found to occur between a dimensionless constant that is used to describe the redshift quantization of astronomical bodies and the fractal dimension of the universe. The older coincidences are reviewed and the new ones are surveyed. The author draws no conclusions, he merely presents the puzzle.

  • Earth Expansion and the Prediction of Earthquakes and Volcanicism (1994) [Updated 9 years ago]

This paper argues that the accuracy of earthquake prediction would improve rapidly if earthquakes were analyzed with an expanding earth model instead of the prevailing one. It describes patterns of seismic events that the present theory cannot begin to explain. These patterns are that similar seismic events tend fo reoccur at similar times in the sunspot cycle and/or similar positions of the earth, moon and sun which are not related to any maximum tidal stresses. It is then shown that the most dominant pattern is a direct consequence of earth expansion. This paper is not intended to be a rigorous treatment of seismicity on an expanding earth, but a largely qualitative discussion whose main purpose is to stimulte further research into methods of seismic prediction that are presently being ignored.

  • Suggestion for Unifying Two Types os Quantized Redshift of Astronomical Bodies (1993) [Updated 7 years ago]
by Martin Kokus, Asim O. Barut   read the paper:

This paper shows  how the large quantization for quasar redshifts and the much smaller quantization for galaxy redshifts can be explained by similar mechanisms.  If the redshifts of quasars is attributed to a change in the electron mass, then the allowable masses for an electron obey a simple formula.  If the proton masses obey the same formula, then they can cause a change in the reduced mass of the electron, causing a redshift quantization  which is in excellent agreement with observation.
