MadeByKIDS Terry Sisson[Updated 1 decade ago] MadeByKIDS Foundation Introduction MadeByKIDS is an idea incubator and a global
non-profit youth mentoring organization. This action oriented program begins by
someone mounting their idea to improve the world or make it more sustainable on the MadeByKIDS website. This attracts people from around the world who
want to make a difference by helping complete the project. Each project becomes
a highly empowering skill development program for those under 30 by having these
youth perform the projects under the guidance of the older mentors and subject
matter experts. Through direct engagement, the youth gain hands-on real world experience
in all phases of implementation of the product, service or process from design,
manufacturing, marketing, or distribution. Mission Mentoring the world?s
youth by engaging all generations in global collaborative projects to create a
sustainable future for all. MadeByKIDS Vision Our vision is best understood by imagining the positive effects MadeByKIDS will have on our society. So imagine when: ? their knowledge to the next generation. ? Youth and mentors gift their ideas and time to improve and benefit our world ? In the process of performing open-source
collaborative projects, the
global family is united bycollectively working towards the common goal of creating a sustainable1world for all 1 Sustainable is meeting present needs without compromising the needs of

staff of MadeByKIDS are people who are dedicated to improving our world. The
entire organization encompasses successful business owners, entrepreneurs,
engineers, marketers and lay people. MadeByKIDS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which
can provide tax deductions to its donors. How it works MadeByKIDS website provides a meeting place where people, having the same interests, can unite to pursue their passions and contribute to creating a better world. In this comfortable, well organized meeting place, youth and mentors form a team. This team then recruits others including world-class subject matter experts. Most importantly, this virtual meeting space provides each team with a step-by-step on-line interactive process and collaborative tools to collectively transform their passionate ideas into reality. Since MadeByKIDS is Internet driven, thousands of simultaneous projects
covering the entire breadth of human need and creativity extends beyond all
borders and cultures with minimal overhead. The innovations and intellectual property developed
within the MadeByKIDS will be available for anyone to use or manufacture under
a nonexclusive license. Funds received will be used to globally expand the
program and finance additional youth-mentor projects. Current Projects Throughout the past two years, MadeByKIDS has received an
overwhelming positive response. Heightened interest is evident through the
increase in volunteering from youth and mentors and the high level of
cooperation from businesses, institutions, and the community. The unique nature
and flexibility of the program lends itself to collaboration with other
nonprofit organizations and implementation of community projects. It has proven
its ability to attract youth, the best and brightest mentors, and the resources
it needs. Following is a list of some of our ongoing projects: ? Website
Development MadeByKIDS is currently
creating an easy-to-follow, step-by-step web-based project development and
management system so that project teams can easily collaborate and coordinate
their efforts online. When this system
is fully functional, hundreds of projects will be able to be performed
simultaneously with very low overhead. The team consists of three mentors,
three youths and one paid web developer. ? Documentary Filmmaking Mentors trained two high
school students to write scripts, film on location, operate and use
professional video equipment, and edit the footage into a pleasing documentary
about MadeByKIDS. ? Online Passion
Discovery Game Team
members will create a specially designed software game that determines one?s
passionate interests. The project will involve volunteer experts who will do a
personal assessment. ? Water Recycling Shower The youth explore how to
create a shower that recycles its water. They work with top scientists to
understand the best way to filter, reheat and pump the water. Team members
build models and test their ideas to develop a shower that uses the least
amount of water and energy. This project
team has already selected two volunteer filter experts, Professor Clyde Witham
and Dr. Scott Cumberland, the inventor of the Brita water filter. ? Super Composter To divert food scraps from
rotting and polluting in dumps, youth are designing and building a small
composter for restaurants and grocery stores. ? Solutions
Discovery Think of a fun, challenging, and exciting way for
people to solve world problems. What you?ll get is a combination of today?s
most advanced problem solving methods and a graphical system of how the brain
thinks integrated into a single online game. That?s www.SolutionsDiscovery.org. Funding MadeByKIDS seeks funding for operations and
staffing to start up, expand, and support for its local and global youth-mentor
project teams. It provides for offices, equipment, supplies and operational
expenses is needed for completion of the web site, salaries, and seed capital
for projects to get them into the implementation stage where sales will enable
MadeByKIDS to become self-sustaining. For kids to create community and improve our world requires resources.
