Description
This is an example of inductive levitation. Two copper cylinders rotating at high speeds induce currents, which induce magnetic fields, which can levitate a magnet. Reversing the spin direction changes the polarity of the field, and instead causes the magnet to be pulled downward, with a force exceeding gravity. This enchanting demonstration has received over a million views on YouTube.
