Indeed, any physical wave is a process, but not an object.
Logically, any process does not exist without its host object.
Like there is no smile without mouth, sound without air, walk wihout legs,
there is no any real wave without its carrier medium.

There are many types of waves in our reality.
Sound and seismic p-wave are waves of pressure in MEDIA, THE AIR and ROCK
The light and seismic s-wave are transversal waves of MEDIA, THE AETHER and ROCK
All waves are only processes of oscillations of correponding physical media.
All waves are features, behaviour of physical media, no more else.
In true physics it is nonsense to talk about waves without their carrier.

However,  a wave exists only in its propagating medium but a medium can exist without wave(s). Since a continuum would retard or prevent motion of mass bodies, nay even of waves across it, which is not actually observed.  So a wave propagating medium is comosed by particles. Those  particles compose the medium which composes the wave.

Quantum Theory, as a mathematical scheme, was invented to circumvent visualization & description of the intrinsic wave-quantum UNITY of light. So Quantum Theory is incomplete & unrealistic Physics and Schr?dinger's Wave Mechanics, on which your great talk is based,  is incomplete QT.   NPA members would do well to think afresh.
